Last days!

Last few days to purchase prints at my Etsy shop! As I do every year I will be closing up my shop from November 1st. until till early January of next year.

Painting on Linen

I'm painting directly on heavyweight 100% linen with fabric paints to make a few pillow covers for our home and some as gifts. I will spend my day sewing which is a nice break from all the drawing I've been doing lately.

Fresh & Good

Freshly made blue corn tortillas from the market, a big round of queso panela and a warm loaf just out of my oven. Bread recipe is is the no-knead method by Jim Lahey.

Altered Photos

Last year when I visited my sweet friend Margie in Toronto she took Sonia & me treasure hunting at the St. Lawrence Flea Market and I bought this little bundle of photos of Ottawa. I love the aqua color of the packaging and had to add it to my vintage ephemera collection. I finally had the chance to do something with them! I'll be altering one photo every day for the next nine days. I'm painting directly on the 3.5 x 2.5 black & white photos with FW Acrylic inks and my usual size 0 liner brush.

***I'm so excited to be going back to visit Margie in a few weeks!

I will be doing a one day stamp carving workshop at our friend Arounna's shop Boohkou.

There are still a couple of spaces available in case you want to join us.

I'm SO excited to go back to Toronto for a whole week! I'm looking forward to spending some precious time with my sweet friends, visit the One of a Kind Show and do a fun one day stamp carving workshop at Bookhou! I hope you will join us if you're in the neighborhood :-)

This where you'll find me & Manolo early Wednesday mornings.
No better place to buy freshly made blue corn tortillas,
fresh fruits, veggies, herbs and wild mushrooms.
I love the colors, the smells, the sounds, tasted
and the super friendly vendors at this weekly market.

Arrows

I took a break from drawing this afternoon and painted myself a bowlful of arrows with my trusty acrylic inks on smooth river stones. I used gold acrylic paint for the arrowheads.
