I started painting these Russian dolls a little over four years ago while we were living a little cabin in the woods and never got to finish them. I dug them out of a box yesterday and decided to do something new altogether. But first they new a new coat of white acrylic paint.
Watercolor & digital collage. Inspired by all the different beautiful bird calls I've been listening to lately. Here's a bird song I recorded during one of my walks with Turbo. I'm hoping one of you might recognize it.
To me it sounds like a rusty swing at the playground :-)
****Update: Thank you guys! You nailed it! It's a russet-nightingale thrush Catharus Occidentallis. Now that I know what it looks like I'll keep an eye out with my camera on my next walk in the woods.
Lots of bird watching, painting & sitting by the fire. One of the perks of living at 9400 ft/2800mts above sea level is that it's always cool enough to light a fire.
